Beans and Pulses

Italy's cuisine is famed for it's simplicity. Many Italian dishes were based on simple recipes using basic staple ingredients such as beans and pulses. With meat at a premium, the diet of many smaller towns and villages relied on food which could be grown locally. Packed full of protein and other vitamins, beans, pulses and lentils provided the community with all the nutrients needed. Great for bulking out soups, sauces and many other dishes, here at Piccola Italia we supply both dried and ready to use beans.
